About Us

Belaku Chitra Nataka, formed during the Rajyotsava celebrations in 2019, is a dynamic Kannada theatre troupe dedicated to taking regional storytelling to global audiences. Over the years, the group has built a strong presence across international platforms through impactful performances, original productions, and cultural collaborations.
The troupe has staged several acclaimed plays, including Premachurna, Kunta Kunta Kuravatti, Gandaskatri, Jagadambeya Beedi Nataka, Naane Sattaaga, and Gaanapriya Brahma Rakshasa - A Musical. Our hit Kannada comedy Muddannana Promotion Prasanga witnessed five house-full shows in Berlin during 2024–2025. Premachurna was staged in Hamburg and Cologne in 2025, Naane Sattaaga was performed in Magdeburg in 2024, and Gaanapriya Brahma Rakshasa reached audiences in Heidelberg and Dresden in 2025. The group also performed Nerehorike in association with Yaksha Mitraru in Frankfurt in 2025.

Beyond the stage, Belaku Chitra Nataka shares its creative voice through original songs and visual presentations on Instagram and YouTube. The song Jayatu Janani received widespread appreciation during the Republic Day celebrations at the Indian Embassy in Berlin. Another notable visual work, Nayakidevi, portrays the heroic story of Rani Nayakidevi, a Kadamba princess who defeated the Afghan invader Mohammad Ghazni.
Belaku Chitra Nataka has further performed twice at the prestigious courtyard of the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, once in 2024 for the promotion of the film Stree-2 and again in 2025 for the promotion of Bad Girl. In addition to producing our own theatre, we have also directed Tenaali Raama, a play performed by young children, highlighting our commitment to mentoring emerging talent.

Through theatre, music, and visual storytelling, Belaku Chitra Nataka continues to celebrate Kannada culture while building meaningful connections with audiences across Europe.
